One of the most visual components of any TEDx event is the stage. We have gone back and forth internally to decide whether or not to keep the stage simple or add some local flair. We will definitely have the TEDxMcAllen lettering available, but as for the rest, maybe you can help.

Next week we will be sending out a Request for Proposals to design our stage. It doesn’t necessarily mean we are going to pick a winner, but it will definitely give you a shot to put your efforts and ideas forward. We want ideas that have a local McAllen feel to it; palm trees, oranges, the international bridge, etc. etc. Maybe make the bridge out of oranges? Make the palm trees out of something else that McAllen is known for .. it’s up to you! Be creative, be inspired to inspire others.

Here’s a link to a presentation to get you started:

Please be on the lookout for the RFP and tag anyone you know who works in theater, creative arts, event production, or special events. We’d love to see what your ideas can come up with. You or your company will get credit for the design in our program, on our site, and more. Thanks and we look forward to seeing what you can do! See you at TEDxMcAllen!
